HYDRAA Reclaims ₹750 Cr Land in Banjara Hills
HYDRAA clears illegal constructions, recovers 5 acres of prime government land amid ownership dispute
Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Disaster Management and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) and revenue department carried out extensive demolition drives across the city on Friday, clearing illegal structures and reclaiming high-value government land, including prime plots at Banjara Hills. Officials said the agency protected five acres of government land worth over `750 crore at Road No. 10, Banjara Hills.
Of the total five acres, 1.2 acres had been allotted earlier to the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB). HYDRAA officials said a private individual, identified as Parthasaradhi, had fraudulently claimed ownership of the entire parcel of land by producing a fabricated survey number. The land originally fell under Survey No. 403, but the encroacher allegedly created a fake number, 403/52, and used it to support his false claim.
Investigations revealed that Parthasaradhi relied on an unregistered sale deed to assert ownership. HYDRAA said he had constructed temporary sheds and deployed bouncers and dogs to intimidate locals and deter officials. Following complaints from HMWS&SB and Shaikpet revenue officials, HYDRAA teams demolished the illegal structures, removed fencing and installed signboards marking the area as government property.
In another drive conducted at Gajularamaram in Quthbullapur, the agency said it had reclaimed 3.5 acres of encroached parkland and roadways within a 13-acre layout developed in 2005 for AG office employees. Officials said the recovered land has been fenced to prevent further encroachments.
Another demolition was carried out at Sri Laxmi Ganapathi Colony in Tattiannaram, Abdullapurmet mandal, where 270 sq. yds out of a 680 sq. yd park site had been encroached upon. HYDRAA officials inspected the area, confirmed the entire site was designated as parkland, and cleared all illegal structures.
