HYDRAA Protects More than 12 Acres of Land in Gandhamguda

Hyderabad: HYDRAA reclaimed more than 12 acres of government land, said to be worth more than Rs 1,200 crore, in Gandhamguda in Gandipet mandal on Friday, following complaints by locals.
Authorities stated that the government land parcel was spread over 26 acres in Survey No. 43 in Gandhamguda. One acre is dedicated to a power substation, and nine acres was allotted to GHMC for garbage dumping and processing. The rest of the land, which was vacant, was slowly getting encroached.
Following residents’ complaints, HYDRAA officials conducted a ground survey and confirmed that about 12.17 acres of government land was encroached. Authorities then proceeded to fence the area and erected boards stating the land belonged to the government and was protected by HYDRAA.
A temple and a mosque were constructed on the government land, and HYDRAA stated that they would not touch the structures. They would ensure that the land would not be encroached further.
