Hyderabad: HYDRAA said it had fenced off a 1,000-sq. yard land meant for a public park located in Madinaguda in Miyapur on Monday, valued for more than Rs.13 crore. The land fell under Survey No. 23 in Ushodaya Enclave, a Huda-approved layout.

As per the approved plan, the site was reserved for a public park and a gift deed was also registered in favour of the GHMC. HYDRAA stated that a local individual illegally occupied the land and constructed a pre-cast wall around it.

Residents of Ushodaya Enclave have been demanding the restoration of the park for a long period of time, but local authorities failed to act despite clear records. Following a complaint received through the Prajavani portal, HYDRAA officials along with revenue and GHMC officers, inspected the site and confirmed its status as park land.

After confirmation, HYDRAA removed the illegal wall, installed fencing around the land and placed boards declaring it as a public park for community use.
