HYDRAA Clears Ramanthapur Lake Encroachments, Reclaims Public Utility Land in Chengicherla
HYDRAA removed temporary encroachments at Ramanthapur Lake and fenced 4,400 sq. yds of public utility land in Chengicherla.
HYDRAA on Tuesday said it removed temporary sheds and hut encroachments raised on Ramanthapur lake full tank level and buffer zone, and also protected a 4,400-square yard public utility land in Jayaprada Colony in Boduppal’s Chengicherla.
The agency said the Ramanthapur lake’s FTL was demarcated at 30 acres, but more 16 acres was subjected to encroachment. Of this, 12 acres had permanent structures while the remaining four acres had temporary sheds and huts.
HYDRAA said that it did not touch the permanent structures, and removed temporary structures. It also said it had recommended the sanction of double-bedroom houses for the residents of huts.
Officials removed an under-construction G+2 commercial building spread on 1,900-sq. yds, along with an auto garage spread on 280 sq. yds. After removing the encroachments, authorities said they will work on the restoration and development of the lake on 18 acres of spread.
Protecting the public utility land in Chengicherla, authorities fenced up the land parcel on Tuesday. They said that 1,200 sq. yds was dedicated for a park, another 1200 sq. yds for a shopping complex, 400 sq. yds for a temple, 800 sq. yds for a school and its library, and 800 sq. yds for a water tank in that land.
The land parcel demarcated for the shopping complex was encroached upom and allegedly converted into housing plots, and two houses were also raised on the land, after which the Jayaprada Colony residents complained to HYDRAA about the issue. Authorities fenced the land and erected sign boards stating the land is protected by HYDRAA.
