Software Engineer Dies by Suicide in Peerzadiguda

Hyderabad: In a tragic incident, a woman allegedly died by suicide after running naked on the streets and jumping into a lake at Peerzadiguda in Hyderabad.

According to the police, the deceased was identified as Tejaswini, daughter of Vakkulagaddi Eshwar Rao and Aruna, natives of Devapalli village in Andhra Pradesh's Vizianagaram district. Tejaswini had been working as a software employee in Bengaluru but resigned from her job six months ago. She had reportedly been staying with her mother in a rented house at Shankarnagar Colony in Peerzadiguda, while her father was living in Visakhapatnam.

According to reports, Tejaswini and her mother had spent Friday evening searching for a house in Miyapur as they were planning to shift from Peerzadiguda.

Police said that at around 2.30 a.m. on Saturday, Tejaswini allegedly locked her mother's room from the outside, picked up a saree, and ran onto the streets naked. CCTV footage reportedly showed her stopping at Berappa Temple, where she offered prayers before continuing to run. She later allegedly jumped into the Peerzadiguda lake.

On Saturday morning, Aruna woke up and found that she was locked inside her room. She shouted for help, neighbours who heard,  arrived and opened the door. When she could not find her daughter in the house, she began searching for her. Tejaswini's body was later found in the lake.

Personnel from HYDRAA and the Disaster Response Force (DRF) retrieved the body from the lake. Police registered a case and shifted the body for post-mortem examination.

According to the police, Tejaswini's mother stated that her daughter had been suffering from mental health issues and frequently experienced disturbing dreams. Police said they are investigating the case from all angles, and the exact reason behind the incident will be known after the investigation is completed.
