Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Wednesday said that the state government was modernising registration services across Telangana with world-class infrastructure and facilities to provide better and more effective services to the people.

On Wednesday, the Chief Minister laid the foundation stone for the new Integrated Sub-Registrar Office Complex and District Registrar Office at Gachibowli. He said these offices, designed with facilities comparable to five-star hotels and international airports, would permanently address citizens’ problems while generating substantial revenue without burdening the state exchequer.

Revanth Reddy directed revenue minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy to ensure that 11 such integrated registration offices are completed by June 2, 2026, coinciding with Telangana State Formation Day. He said the new offices would streamline document registration, particularly in the GHMC and ORR limits, which contribute more than 60 per cent of the state’s registration revenue.

The Chief Minister linked this initiative to his broader vision for Telangana under the “Telangana Rising 2047” plan. He said Hyderabad would not limit itself to competing with Bengaluru or Chennai but would aim to rival international hubs such as Tokyo and New York by 2034.

Revanth Reddy warned that vested interests opposing projects like the Musi River Rejuvenation and Bharat Future City were obstructing development, just as critics once opposed the construction of Hi-Tec City. “Those who stall Hyderabad’s growth are enemies of progress, and people must teach them a fitting lesson,” he declared.

Calling the Old City of Hyderabad the “original city,” the Chief Minister assured that its historic grandeur would be revived through the Musi River Rejuvenation Project. He said water from the Godavari would be diverted to ensure year-round flow, turning the riverfront into a landmark and creating employment opportunities. He also announced Rajiv Swagruha housing for middle-class families as part of city expansion, saying that growth would bring more jobs and livelihoods for the youth.

Revanth Reddy recalled the role of Congress governments and former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi in shaping Hyderabad’s destiny. He credited Rajiv Gandhi with ushering in the IT revolution, promoting transparency in governance, and laying the foundation for Hitec City.

“If global IT firms have set up base in Hyderabad, it is because of the vision of Rajiv Gandhi and leaders like former chief ministers Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy and N. Chandrababu Naidu, who built on his dream,” he said. He assured that his government would take this legacy forward by developing Hyderabad into a global model city.

Srinivas Reddy, speaking at the event, said the Bhu Bharati Act, formulated after studying practices in 18 states, had already attracted 8.6 lakh applications about land issues, of which two lakh have been resolved. He said the new registrar complexes would further streamline services and instructed contractors to complete the Gachibowli project within six to seven months.

IT and industries minister D. Sridhar Babu said that the state budget had earmarked `10,000 crore exclusively for Hyderabad’s growth. He said integrated registration offices were a symbol of the government’s commitment to leveraging technology for efficient service delivery and would serve as a model for other states.
