Sajjanar to Drunk Drivers: Drink Kiya? Google ‘cab’, not ‘lawyer’
“Drink and drive? Take a cab, not a lawyer,” says IPS officer as Hyderabad Police intensify enforcement.
Hyderabad: The City police commissioner V.C. Sajjanar has issued a strong warning against drunk driving through a series of social media posts, reiterating the Hyderabad Police’s zero-tolerance policy.
In a witty yet firm message, Sajjanar advised motorists who consume alcohol to avoid driving altogether and opt for a cab instead, remarking, “Google ‘cab’, not ‘lawyer’.” Emphasising road safety, he called upon citizens to act responsibly, especially during the New Year period.
In another post, Sajjanar cautioned those attempting to influence police by citing political or personal connections. He stated that while the police respect individual privacy, offenders will be booked as per law and can meet the police again in court on the next date of hearing.
Using hashtags like #DoNotDrinkAndDrive and #ZeroTolerance, Sajjanar underlined that no exceptions will be made and strict action will be taken against drunk driving to ensure public safety in Hyderabad.
