HYDERABAD: Residents will light diyas and candles at the Bansilalpet stepwell on February 14 to pay tribute to CRPF personnel who lost their lives in the Pulwama attack.

The programme, scheduled to begin at 6.30 pm on Saturday, is being organised as a gesture of solidarity with the CRPF. The evening will feature patriotic songs in remembrance of the fallen personnel. The city-based band ‘Tangy Seasons’ will perform at the restored 350-year-old stepwell from the Asaf Jahi period. Around 150 CRPF jawans are also expected to render patriotic songs during the event.

Rajashree Pinnamaneni, one of the organisers, said, “The stepwell will be illuminated with diyas and candles. The programme will begin at 6.30 pm. As the stepwell premises will be occupied by the jawans and the music band, visitors will watch the event from the gallery area. On the occasion, additional director general Ravideep Singh, who was present during the Pulwama attack, will deliver an address.”
