Case against Babylon staff booked
Hyderabad: A digital creator took to Instagram pertaining to the assault on her and her family by the Babylon Kitchen and Bar staff. She stated that she was charged extra for the items that were not ordered and the police delayed to file the assault case by the staff.
A booking reservation went wrong in the establishment when the Digital Creator Meenal stated that they were charged for those items which were not ordered. However, a source said that is not the case but they paid the full amount forgetting that they reseved with discount in prior. However, the management considered and even returned the discount amount but they demanded extra discount for the inconvenience.
Meanwhile, the victim Meenal also tweeted on X and wrote, 'On behalf of my sister & mother ,FIR filed against Babylon Kitchen & Bar for abuse & billing fraud. Accused Anil Bang & Nishant haven’t appeared. CCTV can prove it, but may be tampered with. Request immediate cancellation of Babylon Kitchen & Bar’s liquor license. Owners/MDs Anil Bang & Nishant were drinking on the premises, violating liquor rules, alongside abusive behavior and fraudulent billing. This risks public safety. This is not just about billing fraud it’s about how women are treated in public spaces. My sister and mother were verbally abused and threatened at Babylon Kitchen & Bar. Women’s safety must be non-negotiable. We need stricter enforcement and action. This is also a serious scam. Many patrons don’t closely check their bills in high pressure or late night settings. My sister noticed the overcharging only because she had ordered very few items. What followed was abuse, threats, and a clear violation of women’s safety. My sister & mother were surrounded by 12–15 male staff after questioning a bill at Babylon Kitchen & Bar. Lights were turned off, no lady bouncers present. The only man with them was pushed away leaving them alone in a threatening space. This is a women’s safety failure(sic).'
Meanwhile, the police sources confirmed that a case is registered and a probe is launched. The victim who claimed that the management shut the lights and assaulted them, a source said any establishments in the police station jurisdiction will shut the lights by 12 am. Meanwhile, a source added that thet demanded money from the management to withdraw the case.
