Hyderabad: Lionel Messi’s visit to Hyderabad, as part of his GOAT tour in India, has become more challenging to the security personnel and the police department following the untoward incident at Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata on Saturday. Messi will play at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium at Uppal this evening. Following reports of the chaos in Kolkata, Telangana DGP B. Shivadhar Reddy beefed up security at the stadium. A special team of sniffer dogs have also been deployed around the stadium. Three-layer protection, including the paramilitary and special forces, has been deployed near the stadium. Over 20 convoy and bullet proof vehicles have also been stationed at the stadium.
Special Task Force and Intelligence Wing teams have also been deployed at the airport and stadium, apart from some other places enroute the stadium.
Lionel Messi will clash against Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy at the stadium. LEDs flashing pictures of Rahul Gandhi, Revanth Reddy and Lionel Messi in the football jerseys are drawing the attention of passersby near the stadium.
