Hyderabad police nabs 6 inter-State shutter lifters

The police recovered Rs.8 lakh in cash and half a dozen mobile phones from the possession of arrested persons.

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad police on Monday arrested half a dozen persons for stealing Rs.9 lakh from a mobile phone shop in Koti by lifting its shutters.

The arrested have been identified as Jaisa Ram (32), Lilaram (31), Laxmanaram alias Shravan (34), Jabara Ram (34) and Parasaram (30), all natives of Rajasthan and Nagaji Ram (30) of Gujarat. Parasaram was doing business and residing at P and T Colony in Dilsukhnagar.

According to police, Jaisa Ram received information from Parasaram that if they commit theft in Laxmi mobile accessories shop owned Masara Ram Devasi in Koti especially on Sunday, they will get huge cash. They formed a gang and decided to commit theft in Laxmi mobile accessories shop.

As per their plan, they came to Hyderabad by train on August 3 and took a room at a lodge in Dilsukhnagar. They scouted the shop and committed theft by breaking open the grill and shutter locks and stole Rs.9 lakh from the cash counter.

Based on a complaint, the police booked a case and took up the investigation. The police examined the CCTV camera footage and nabbed the accused at a lodge in Dilsukhnagar. The police recovered Rs.8 lakh in cash and half a dozen mobile phones from them.
