Hyderabad: A man died after an iron rod being transported in a trolley auto fell on him while he was travelling on a scooter near Fatehnagar on Balanagar Flyover on Thursday.

According to Balanagar Inspector G. Prashant, the trolley auto driver, Nayeem Pasha, had purchased iron rods from a steel shop in Balanagar and was transporting them to Ranigunj.

The incident occurred when the auto was taking a U-turn near Fatehnagar, Balanagar Flyover. One of the iron rods suddenly fell from the vehicle and struck Prakash Pawar, who was travelling on a scooter. He sustained severe injuries and died on the spot.

Pawar was a resident of Sanjay Gandhi Nagar in Shapur.

Police rushed to the spot after receiving information about the incident. The body was shifted to Gandhi Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

The police arrested trolley auto driver Nayeem Pasha for alleged negligence in connection with the incident.
