Hyderabad: The Forest Trek Park near Manchirevula, close to the Outer Ring Road (ORR), has been temporarily closed to visitors after a leopard was spotted in the area.

Ranga Reddy district forest officer (DFO) Sudhakar Reddy said forest teams are tracking the leopard’s movements using camera traps. He confirmed that the animal has been seen moving through various parts of the park.

The leopard was first sighted near the trekking zone, and officials have since observed its regular presence in and around the area. To monitor and safely capture it, authorities have installed seven CCTV cameras and placed one trap cage inside the park.

“If the leopard stays in one location, we may be able to capture it quickly. But if it keeps moving, the process could take more time,” the DFO explained.

Officials said the park will remain closed for a few more days as a safety precaution, until the leopard is located and it is deemed safe for visitors to return.
