Hyderabad Firm Adopts Two Crocodiles

The curator appealed to citizens to contribute to the animal adoption scheme or support conservation through CSR activity.

Hyderabad: In a gesture towards wildlife conservation, Glukem Biocare Pvt. Limited, Hyderabad, has adopted two Mugger Crocodiles for a period of one year at Nehru Zoological Park on Saturday.

Glukem Biocare director Rakesh Chinnala, along with US delegates Philip, Shyam and Sushantha Hazra, visited the zoo and presented a cheque of ₹1 lakh to J. Vasantha, curator, Nehru Zoological Park, towards the adoption.

Speaking on the occasion, Chinnala appreciated the maintenance and breeding programmes carried out in recent years.

Earlier, he had adopted a Panther for a year. Nehru Zoological Park currently houses four species of crocodiles — Mugger, long-snouted, siamese and saltwater.
