Hyderabad Cyber Cells Record 87% Rise in Refunds
Commissioner stresses training, awareness, and interstate coordination to curb cybercrime
Hyderabad: City police commissioner C.V. Anand noted significant improvements over the past two months in the performance of the seven zonal cyber cells (ZCCs), in terms of petition disposals, refund mechanisms, case detections, public awareness, interstate coordination, and record documentation.
Anand heard zonal detective inspectors, sub-inspectors, and constables explain ground-level challenges. He assured them that operational gaps and resource requirements would be addressed
Highlighting the importance of prevention, Anand stressed continuous training and awareness campaigns to reduce victimisation.
The meeting was attended by senior officers P. Viswa Prasad, Dara Kavitha, ACPs, SHOs, Inspectors, and SIs from all seven zones. Citizens were urged to report cybercrime via the 1930 helpline or at the nearest ZCC.

Highlights
In 2024, west zone had the highest refund (`24.11 lakh), central zone had the most cases (133).
In 2025 (till July), the southeast zone led in refunds (`30.23 lakh), central zone again topped in cases (146).
