Hyderabad;Tulasi Reddy Palpunoori from Bowrampet, Quthbullapur, has completed his climb of Mount Everest, the world’s highest peak, according to a statement on Wednesday.

Tulasi, once a self‑confessed foodie, took to mountaineering to become fitter. Training led him into endurance sports and high‑altitude expeditions. He advanced to long‑distance events and some of the world’s toughest climbs.

“Summiting Everest is the result of years of discipline, sacrifice and preparation. The mountain tests you physically and mentally at every stage. This achievement belongs to everyone who supported me — my family, friends, guides and mentors,” he said.

He credited his family, expedition team, Sherpas, and guides Bharath Thammineni and Romil Barthwal of Boots and Crampons for their role in the journey.

Tulasi has earlier summited Mount Elbrus (5,642 m) in Europe, Aconcagua (6,961 m) in South America, and Kilimanjaro (5,895 m) in Africa. He has also climbed Kang Yatse I (6,400 m) and II (6,250 m) in Leh, Dzo Jongo (6,240 m) in Ladakh, and Lobuche East (6,119 m) in Nepal.

He has completed the demanding Ironman challenge, reflecting his commitment to pushing physical and mental limits.

His family said: “Years of sacrifice, courage and determination have finally led Tulasi to stand on top of the world. His journey proves that ordinary beginnings can lead to extraordinary achievements.”

About 600 Indians, including around 20 from Telangana, have so far planted the national flag on Everest.
