Hyderabad: A police constable was suspended after he campaigned for his wife K. Geetanjali, who contested on a BRS ticket for a ward member post in the Cheriyal municipality in Medak district. The constable's family members staged a protest against the suspension by sitting on the road in protest. The constable’s wife, meanwhile, defeated her Congress rival K. Teja.

Telugu Desam candidate Bodepudi Revathi won as the 10 ward member in Madhira of Khammam district, relaunching the party that dominated Telangana before the bifurcation of united Andhra Pradesh. Jana Sena candidate Vijayalakshmi won as the 14 ward member in Nereducherla of Suryapet district.
Two Congress candidates win ward polls by one vote
Two Congress candidates won ward member polls by a single vote in Kolhapur and Medak civic bodies. Congress candidate Udutala Jayalakshmi won the second ward in Kolhapur municipality with just one vote over BRS candidate Kumari Padma. As the victory margin got thinner, tension gripped the candidates during the counting of votes. Out of the total 815 voters in the ward, 736 votes were polled. Of these, Congress candidate Jayalakshmi got 355 votes, BRS candidate Kumari Padma got 354 votes, BJP candidate got 21 votes, NOTA got three votes, and invalid votes got four. The Congress candidate Jayalakshmi won by just one vote. Similarly, Congress candidate Haritha won the sixth ward of Medak Municipal Corporation with just one vote majority over BRS candidate Jeevan Rao.
