HYDERABAD: Tickets for hot air balloon rides scheduled from January 16 to 18 were sold out within seconds of being released on a booking platform on Tuesday.

The rides are being organised by the Telangana Tourism Development Corporation (TGTDC) in collaboration with SkyWaltz, Certified Balloon Safari. Morning flights will take off from Satham Cheruvu, opposite the Qutub Shahi Tombs near Golconda, at 5 am, while evening tethered flights will be held at the Parade Grounds at 5 pm.

TGTDC managing director Kranti Valluru said 330 tickets were released for the three‑day event and sold out instantly. “We are considering releasing an additional 100 tickets. Morning rides are priced at ₹2,000 plus GST, while evening rides are free, with a nominal registration fee of ₹15 on BookMyShow,” she said.

Explaining the difference between the two sessions, Valluru noted that morning rides involve horizontal flights covering up to 8 km at an altitude of 2,500 feet, while evening rides are tethered, limited to a vertical ascent of about 60 feet.

A detailed advisory has been issued for passengers, particularly those with medical conditions. The rides are open to individuals aged five and above, but not recommended for those with disabilities, pre‑existing health issues, or recent surgeries.

Pregnant women and wheelchair‑bound persons will not be permitted. Participants must be physically fit to stand for at least an hour and bend their knees during landing. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Tickets are non‑cancellable and non‑refundable, with rides subject to weather conditions.
