Hopes Rise Ahead of CM’s Asifabad Visit
Residents seek new colleges, tribal school and early rollout of DIET admissions
Adilabad: People of Komaram Bheem Asifabad district are pinning high hopes on Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s proposed visit to the district on June 2.
Residents recalled that the Chief Minister had earlier promised to sanction a Polytechnic college or a Government Degree college for the district. Though a DIET College building has already been constructed, the state government is yet to commence admissions. Several Intermediate students, particularly girls aspiring to pursue D.Ed courses, are eagerly waiting for admissions to begin at the local DIET College.
Adivasi leaders also urged the Chief Minister to sanction another Tribal Ashram School for girls at the district headquarters. They pointed out that the existing primary Tribal Ashram School for girls had been converted into a sports school, causing difficulties for tribal girl students in continuing their education locally.
Meanwhile, district officials and elected representatives on Tuesday inspected three locations to finalise the venue for the Chief Minister’s proposed public meeting in the district.
MLC Dande Vittal, district collector K. Haritha, SP Nitika Pant and DCC president Atram Suguna visited Kagaznagar X Road, Vanjiri and Dada Nagar to inspect possible venues for the programme.
The Chief Minister is expected to launch the second phase of the Indiramma housing scheme during the visit.
Ministers for Revenue Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, Tourism Jupally Krishna Rao and Labour Gaddam Vivek, along with government adviser P. Sudarshan Reddy and Mancherial MLA K. Premsagar Rao, are scheduled to visit Komaram Bheem Asifabad district headquarters on May 20.
The ministers will hold a review meeting with district officials regarding arrangements for the Chief Minister’s visit and public meeting.
