Karimnagar: A sensational case of an alleged honeytrap and extortion attempt targeting the son of Union Minister and Karimnagar MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar has come to light.

According to local police reports, a woman reportedly orchestrated a sophisticated plot to blackmail the Minister's son by using her daughter as a pawn, demanding a massive sum of money to settle the fabricated matter.

The matter surfaced after the Union Minister’s son filed a formal complaint with the Karimnagar police, alleging that the woman was attempting to extort between Rs.2 crore and Rs.3 crore from him.

He stated that the accused had meticulously planned the trap and was now using threats and harassment to force him into a financial settlement. It is alleged that the woman is attempting to misguide the investigation by misrepresenting her daughter’s age to threaten the victim with a POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) case.

She has reportedly threatened to create a public scandal unless her financial demands are met. Police believed that the plot was inspired by cinematic themes to create a false legal crisis and pressure the family for political and financial gain.

The Karimnagar police have launched a detailed investigation into the activities of the woman following the complaint. Officials are currently verifying her background to determine if she has been involved in similar extortion or honeytrap rackets in the past.

The police have assured a thorough probe into the allegations of blackmail and the misuse of legal provision to target high-profile individuals for ransom.
