Hoax bomb threat to Medchal-Malkajgiri Collectorate triggers panic among staff

After checking mail, the staff alerted the Cyberabad police, who pressed into service the bomb disposal squad and checked the entire Collectorate office for over two hours. After checking the Collectorate office thoroughly, the police confirmed that it was a hoax email bringing much needed relief for the staff.

The squad first vacated the building and checked all the floors extensively before confirming that it was a hoax email.

When contacted, Medchal Deputy Commissioner of Police N Koti Reddy told Deccan Chronicle that efforts were on to identify the persons who sent the email. “We will book a case and take necessary action against those who were behind it,” he said.
