Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) has dismissed  fake rumours claiming that reservoirs supplying water to Hyderabad would run dry by the end of November, leading to severe water shortages across the city.

A message claiming to be from HMWSSB has been circulating on social media platforms, stating that the ongoing El Niño effect could cause most reservoirs to dry up by the end of November, resulting in severely restricted or no water supply across Hyderabad.

Responding to the viral message, HMWSSB clarified that the claims were false and urged the public not to believe or forward messages circulating in the name of Jalmandali without verification.

The water board also appealed to residents to use water carefully and avoid wastage.
