Himayatsagar Gate To be Opened Thursday Night, Downstream Areas Alerted

Hyderabad: The HMWS&SB announced that one gate of Himayatsagar would be opened at 10 pm on Thursday due to continuous rainfall in the catchment area and forecasts of more rain. It alerted officers to remain on high alert and take precautions as required and people living in downstream areas have been alerted to stay cautious. On Wednesday afternoon, water at Himayatsagar stood at 1,762.45 feet, one foot below its full tank level of of 1763.5 feet. The reservoir with a capacity of 2.968 tmc ft held 2.687 tmc ft of water, the HMWS&SB had stated on Wednesday.
