Hyderabad: Senior Cyberabad civic and police officials, along with HMDA special chief secretary Jayesh Ranjan and HYDRAA commissioner A.V. Ranganath on Thursday focused on measures to address waterlogging locations and implement proactive measures to prevent inundation and ensure smooth traffic movement during the rain.

The meeting reviewed the preparedness measures being undertaken in view of the monsoon season and the weather forecasts issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The meeting was attended by the Cyberabad Municipal Commissioner A. Srijana, Cyberabad police commissioner Dr M. Ramesh and senior civic and police officials.

Ranjan directed all departments to remain vigilant during periods of heavy rainfall and strengthen inter-departmental coordination for prompt response to emergencies. Officials were instructed to ensure that field teams, machinery, and emergency resources are readily available for immediate deployment at vulnerable locations.

Traffic management measures during adverse weather conditions were also reviewed. Departments were directed to ensure the swift removal of breakdown vehicles and road obstructions to minimize traffic congestion. The use of technology, including drones and real-time monitoring systems, was emphasized to facilitate effective traffic regulation and rapid response during heavy rainfall events.
