High Command’s Decision Final on Cabinet Posts, Says R&B Minister Komatireddy
Venkat Reddy emphasised that the decision on ministerial posts lay with the party high command and that it would be made after discussions with the Chief Minister.
Hyderabad: Roads and buildings minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy on Tuesday said that he cannot secure a Cabinet minister post for his brother and Congress Munugode MLA Raj Gopal Reddy.
Speaking to the media in Delhi on Tuesday, Venkata Reddy said he was unaware of any promise made by the party high command to Raj Gopal Reddy regarding a ministerial post when he returned to the Congress from the BJP just before the 2023 Assembly polls.
He was responding to the comments made by Raj Gopal Reddy on Tuesday — that the party high command had assured him a Cabinet berth and that was the reason he returned to the Congress.
Venkat Reddy emphasised that the decision on ministerial posts lay with the party high command and that it would be made after discussions with the Chief Minister. The word of the high command was final. The Chief Minister and the TPCC chief together decide on such appointments, he said.
Venkat Reddy stated that he was neither in a position to offer a ministerial post to his brother nor influence such appointments. He said the matter was entirely in the hands of the party high command and TPCC leadership, and that neither he nor anyone else could interfere in it.
