Heavy to Very Heavy Rains Forecast Across Telangana; IMD Issues Alert

India Meteorological Department warns of widespread showers, thunderstorms, and gusty winds across Telangana, with heavy to very heavy rainfall likely in multiple districts over the next three days.

Hyderabad: The India Meteorological Department has issued a seven-day weather forecast warning of widespread rainfall activity across Telangana, with heavy to very heavy rains likely in several districts over the next few days.

According to the Meteorological Centre in Hyderabad, light to moderate rain or thundershowers are expected at most places across the state from the evening of July 4 to the morning of July 5. However, isolated locations in Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, and Khammam districts are likely to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall.

Additionally, heavy rainfall is expected in Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Peddapalli, Karimnagar, Warangal, Hanumakonda, Mahabubabad, Suryapet, and Kamareddy districts. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds reaching speeds of 50–60 kmph are likely in parts of Adilabad, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, and Nirmal districts.

For July 5 to July 6, the IMD has forecast light to moderate rains at many places, with heavy rainfall expected in northern districts including Adilabad, Nizamabad, Jagtial, Sangareddy, Medak, and Kamareddy. Thunderstorms with lightning and strong surface winds (40–50 kmph) are also likely in several areas.

On July 6 to July 7, rainfall activity is expected to reduce slightly, with light to moderate rain predicted at a few places. However, thunderstorms with gusty winds may still occur in isolated northern districts.
