Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Meteorological Center has announced that the state will witness rains for the next three days due to the impact of a low-pressure area. On Saturday, heavy rainfall is likely in Nirmal, Nizamabad, Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Bhadradri, Sangareddy, and Kamareddy districts. In this context, the Meteorological Department has issued yellow warnings for nine districts across the state.
Rainfall is also expected in Jagtial, Rajanna Sircilla, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanumakonda, Vikarabad, and Medak districts. Meanwhile, widespread rains have already lashed Adilabad and Nizamabad districts since early morning, leading to heavy inflows in streams and rivulets. The Chikaman stream in Sirikonda is flowing vigorously, cutting off road connectivity between several villages.
In Nirmal district, heavy floodwater is entering the Kadem reservoir, while the flood level at Bhainsa Gaddenna Vagu project has also risen significantly. Authorities have lifted two gates of the project, releasing 4,571 cusecs downstream against the current inflow of 6,484 cusecs.
