Heavy Rains Forecast in Telangana
With the monsoon trough also active, heavy rainfall is likely in Bhadradri Kothagudem, Jayashankar Bhupalapalli, Mahabubabad, Mulugu, and Warangal districts, while other districts may receive moderate rains accompanied by gusty winds (30–40 kmph).
Hyderabad: The Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rains across several districts of Telangana on Tuesday and Wednesday. A surface circulation over the north-west Bay of Bengal is expected to intensify into a low-pressure system within 24 hours. With the monsoon trough also active, heavy rainfall is likely in Bhadradri Kothagudem, Jayashankar Bhupalapalli, Mahabubabad, Mulugu, and Warangal districts, while other districts may receive moderate rains accompanied by gusty winds (30–40 kmph).
Meanwhile, after five days of reduced rainfall, temperatures have risen slightly across the state.
Rainfall Deficit in 10 Districts
As August nears its end, deficit rainfall continues in ten districts of Telangana. The state, which was recording 14% surplus rainfall by August 18, has now slipped to a 9% deficit. The sharpest shortfall is in Nirmal (–44%), followed by Peddapally (–21%), Jayashankar Bhupalapalli (–13%), Nalgonda (–13%), Nizamabad (–12%), Jagityala (–12%), Rajanna Sirisilla (–11%), Mancherial (–10%), Sangareddy (–6%), and Medchal Malkajgiri (–4%).
