HCLTech announces expansion of IT footprint in Hyderabad
Davos: HCLTech, a leading global technology company, is expanding its global delivery footprint in Hyderabad with the launch of a new tech center.
The announcement came after the meeting with the Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and IT and Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu with the global CEO and Managing Director of HCLTech, C Vijayakumar, on the inaugural day of the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos.
The new center will be providing cutting-edge cloud, AI and digital transformation solutions to global clients across industries such as hi-tech, life sciences and financial services. Located in the Hi-Tech City, the 320,000 sqft facility will house 5,000 IT employees and comes with Gold Certification from the Indian Green Building Council, underscoring HCLTech's commitment to sustainable business practices.
“Hyderabad, with its world-class infrastructure and high-quality talent pool, has been a key location on HCLTech's global network. The new center will bring cutting edge capabilities to our global client base and contribute to the local technology ecosystem” said Vijayakumar.
He invited Chief Minister and IT and Industries Minister to formally inaugurate the new tech centre next month. The Chief Minister welcomed HCLTech’s expansion plans and remarked “The new tech centre reaffirms Hyderabad’s continued attraction for global IT companies and further consolidates its position as a leading IT hub in the world.”
The Industries Minister emphasised that the State government was committed to strengthening the tech and innovation ecosystem in Hyderabad with special focus on expanding it to tier-II and tier-III cities to promote jobs for local youth and encouraged HCLTech to actively consider opening an IT centre in a second city in Telangana.
He assured full support to facilitate HCLTech’s continued growth in the state. HCLTech has been present in Hyderabad since 2007. With the addition of the new center, its footprint will span five centers across the city with capacity of 8,500 seats.
Meanwhile, Revanth Reddy stressed on four aspects of urban mobility while addressing the round table on the theme at the WEF CII conference - infrastructure, accessibility, inclusivity and sustainability.
“I want to make Hyderabad’s future city the world’s best in urban mobility,” he said, adding, it comes down finally to three words - fastest, greenest, and lowest cost. The gathering gave a thunderous applause, reflecting on his views that mobility excellence will decide the fate and future of cities.
