Harvard Business School Publishes Case Study On Cyberabad's COVID-19 Crisis Management Model

HYDERABAD: Indian School of Business (ISB) and Harvard Business Publishing (HBP), through Harvard Business Impact, has published a case study on Cyberabad’s Covid-19 crisis management model. It was co-authored by Prof. Vijaya Sunder M, of the ISB, then-Cyberabad police chief V.C. Sajjanar, the incumbent city police commissioner, and co-author Diti Joshi. To mark the publication, Sajjanar and Dr Krishna Yedula, former secretary general of the Society For Cyberabad Security Council (SCSC) met with the core team on Saturday to recognise members and volunteers who worked with Cyberabad police, government departments, healthcare institutions and industry during the pandemic.

During Sajjanar’s tenure in Cyberabad, the police coordinated with SCSC, government, industry and healthcare bodies to transition nearly 800,000 IT/ITES employees to work from home within days of the pandemic onset, enabling continuity of operations across IT, ITES, pharma, BFSI, healthcare, manufacturing, retail and Telecom sectors. SCSC, coordinated by Dr Yedula, ran a Covid response and business continuity framework covering movement permissions for essential staff, CXO engagement, government advisory dissemination and workplace safety support. The case study was presented as a model of public-private partnership in crisis management and is expected to be referenced by governments, business schools and crisis management professionals.
