Harish Rao Accuses Cong. Of Neglect
Harish Rao reminded that the Chief Minister, who also holds the education portfolio, had earlier assured he would personally monitor the functioning of government schools.
HYDERABAD: BRS leader T. Harish Rao demanded that the government take immediate steps to prevent the rising number of food poisoning incidents in social welfare hostels. Speaking at a party meeting in Sangareddy on Monday, he criticised Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy for focusing on attacking the opposition instead of addressing real issues.
“Just in the past two days, food poisoning cases have been reported from Sangareddy, Nagarkurnool, Jagtial and Bhadradri-Kothagudem districts. This is a tragic reflection of the ineptness of the Congress government,” he said.
Harish Rao reminded that the Chief Minister, who also holds the education portfolio, had earlier assured he would personally monitor the functioning of government schools. “In the last 20 months, more than 100 students in government gurukul schools have lost their lives due to food poisoning cases and snake bites. At least now, the government must wake up and act to prevent such tragedies,” he urged.
“Does the Chief Minister, who never misses a chance to attack the opposition, not see the plight of students in government-run hostels and schools? Is this neglect because he wants to erase every memory of former chief minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, under whose administration these hostels and schools were thriving?” Harish Rao asked.
