Harish Question’s Rahul’s Silence on Bulldozer Raj in Telangana
Harish Rao reminded Rahul Gandhi of his promise of visiting the University of Hyderabad whenever students were agitated, and asked why he has not even uttered a word at the destruction of Kancha Gachibowli to preserve which students were protesting against.
Hyderabad: Senior BRS leader and former minister T. Harish Rao on Friday questioned Rahul Gandhi’s silence on the Telangana government’s actions in Kancha Gachibowli, which he said was “enforcing bulldozer raj” he said the Congress leader always spoken against.
In a letter to Rahul Gandhi, Harish Rao said Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy was using bulldozers frequently to “demolish homes of the poor and middle class under the guise of HYDRAA and Musi beautification. This destructive behaviour has extended to Hyderabad Central University where more than 100 acres of flora has been destroyed, and the habitat of numerous endangered species has been disturbed. This has left the national bird, the peacock, and other species of birds in a perilous situation as they are deprived of shelter.”
Harish Rao reminded Rahul Gandhi of his promise of visiting the University of Hyderabad whenever students were agitated, and asked why he has not even uttered a word at the destruction of Kancha Gachibowli to preserve which students were protesting against.
“Telangana society demands an explanation from you: Are all these actions happening with your blessings and consent, or are you deliberately remaining silent on these attacks and unconstitutional behaviours? I hope you will take these issues seriously and instruct your Chief Minister and government to practice what you preach,” Harish Rao said in his letter.
