WARANGAL: The Hanamkonda Women’s Police Station has been shifted from Subedari to the police quarters building at Bhimaram, with services at the new premises set to begin on November 1.

The station, which was earlier functioning on the upper floor of the Subedari Police Station, has been relocated to a building near the Kakatiya University Police Station.

The relocation was initiated by Warangal Police Commissioner N. Swetha, IPS, to make police services more accessible to women and complainants.

The Subedari premises did not have adequate space for the Women’s Police Station and a family counselling centre to address domestic and family-related disputes. The police therefore decided to move the station to the larger police quarters building at Bhimaram.

A family counselling centre has also been set up in the new building under the aegis of the Sarvodaya voluntary organisation. Women approaching the police with family disputes and other problems will be able to access counselling services there.

Police officials have asked the public to take note of the change and approach the Women’s Police Station at the Bhimaram police quarters, near the Kakatiya University Police Station, from November 1.
