TGSWREIS secretary Ravi Gugulotu on Thursday directed officials to strengthen libraries across all 268 Gurukul institutions, identify reasons for student dropouts and provide additional support to students lagging academically.

Gugulotu issued the directions while inspecting the Gowlidoddi Premier Centres of Excellence for boys and girls. He reviewed academics, food, staffing, digital classes, sports training and the physical and mental well-being of students.

On his third day after assuming charge, Gugulotu interacted with students about their studies, time management, difficult subjects, examination performance and career plans. He also had lunch with them and sought their feedback.

Officials were directed to provide additional coaching and remedial teaching to students securing lower marks rather than discouraging them.

The secretary reviewed students’ performance in JEE Main and JEE Advanced and asked officials to identify those with the potential to secure merit positions and provide them with additional training, study material and specialised guidance.

He said libraries should be equipped with textbooks, competitive examination material, general knowledge books, English-language resources and science magazines.

Gugulotu also reviewed staff attendance and arrangements for students to communicate with their parents.
