Telangana Govt Releases ₹375 Crore for Musi Riverfront Development Project

Second-quarter funds to boost river beautification, pollution control, and urban infrastructure works along Musi.

Hyderabad: The Municipal Administration and Urban Development Department has sanctioned ₹375 crore as the 2nd quarter release for the Musi Riverfront Development Corporation Limited (MRDCL). The allocation is part of the ₹1,500 crore budget provision for 2025-26. The funds will be utilized under the Musi Riverfront Development Plan scheme, and the amount has been credited to the MRDCL PD account for project implementation.

The project aims to revive and transform the Musi River in Hyderabad through beautification, pollution control, and infrastructure development. Key works include construction of parks, walkways, cycling tracks, sewage treatment plants, and embankments to prevent flooding, along with creation of cultural and recreational spaces along the riverfront.
