Governor Buys SHG Products, Backs Women Entrepreneurs at Hanamkonda Expo

Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla on Thursday visited an exhibition of products made by Self-Help Groups (SHGs) at the Hanamkonda Collectorate, where he purchased locally made items and praised the efforts of women entrepreneurs.
The exhibition, organised by the Society for Elimination of Rural Poverty (SERP), the Mission for Elimination of Poverty in Municipal Areas (MEPMA), and the agriculture and horticulture departments, featured a range of products prepared by women SHG members.
Shukla interacted with the participants, enquiring about manufacturing processes, product quality and marketing opportunities, and appreciated initiatives aimed at promoting self-employment and sustainable livelihoods for women.
He examined millet-based food products, handwoven textiles, pure ghee, edible oils and other value-added items, and purchased several products to encourage the entrepreneurs.
The Governor also visited the Warangal dhurrie stall, where he learnt about the traditional weaving process and discussed market potential. Appreciating the craftsmanship, he bought a few items in support of the artisans.
Shukla said the government was extending support to quality products made by SHGs and emphasised the need to expand market access to strengthen women’s economic empowerment.
Minister Adluri Laxman Kumar, Legislative Council deputy chairman Banda Prakash, Governor’s secretary Dana Kishore, Warangal collector, Dr Satya Sharada, Hanamkonda collector Chahat Bajpai, Warangal Police Commissioner N. Shwetha and other officials were present.
