Nalgonda: Congress MLA from Munugode, Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy on Sunday said the state government should govern in line with people’s aspirations to retain power in Telangana in the next elections.

Speaking to the media after inaugurating an eye camp organised by the Komatireddy Susheelamma Foundation at Choutuppal in Yadadri-Bhongir district, he dismissed reports that he was distancing himself from the Congress. He said he had attended all party meetings and was working to strengthen the organisation in his constituency.

He said there would be no compromise on protecting party cadre and strengthening the Congress, and added that he would work to ensure the party returned to power in the next elections.

Referring to his remarks on the appointment of the Yadagirigutta temple trust board, he said they were made due to specific circumstances and not directed against the Congress or the state government. He said he had raised objections to certain decisions but not to the party.
