Gond Rajula Kota To Be Developed As Tourist Spot

ADILABAD : Adilabad collector Rajarshi Shah on Friday reviewed restoration works at the ‘Gond Rajula Kota’ in Utnoor and directed officials to develop the site as a major tourist destination while preserving its historical and cultural significance.

Accompanied by ITDA project officer Manda Makarandu, the collector inspected the fort and assessed the progress of ongoing works. He instructed officials to establish a modern museum showcasing the history and culture of Adivasis, including display of traditional tools, utensils and photographs related to the Gond rulers.

He also proposed creating space within the premises for Adivasis to sell traditional artefacts, ornaments and items made of bamboo, bronze and silver, along with an auditorium for cultural programmes.

Manda Makarandu said efforts were under way to restore and beautify the fort to attract tourists and develop it as a key destination in Adilabad district.

Officials from the department of heritage, including director Prof. Arjun Rao, additional director Narasimhulu, deputy director Sagar, SOD Raju, district tourism officer Ravi Kumar and APO (PVTG) Atram Bhaskar, were present.
