GHMC Orders Closure of slaughterhouses on April 10
The directive, issued by the GHMC’s Veterinary Section under Section 533(b) of the GHMC Act, 1955, has been communicated to the Commissioners of Police for Hyderabad, Cyberabad, and Rachakonda.
Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has ordered closure of all cattle, sheep, and goat slaughterhouses, as well as retail meat and beef shops within its jurisdiction on April 10 on the occasion of Mahaveer Jayanti.
The directive, issued by the GHMC’s Veterinary Section under Section 533(b) of the GHMC Act, 1955, has been communicated to the Commissioners of Police for Hyderabad, Cyberabad, and Rachakonda.
The civic body has also requested the support of the police authorities to ensure the smooth enforcement of the closure and assist municipal staff in carrying out the order.
