HYDERABAD: Oakridge International School, Khajaguda, gets a show-cause notice from the Serilingampally zone of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) for parking school vehicles on public roads, causing major inconvenience to the public.

Officials said the school has been parking vehicles along Khajaguda Road, occupying nearly 500 metres of space. The obstruction has been triggering traffic jams and creating problems for parents, commuters, and residents in the area.

The notice states that the practice violates the GHMC Act, 1955, and the TG-bPASS Act, 2020. Under Section 405 of the GHMC Act, blocking or encroaching on public property is prohibited. The corporation has warned that vehicles may be towed, penalties imposed, and legal action taken if the school fails to comply.

The GHMC has directed the school to remove the vehicles immediately and ensure public roads are not used for parking in the future. The management has been asked to submit a written explanation within three days.
