Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has announced a new initiative to introduce doorstep pickup services for old mattresses and furniture, as part of its efforts to promote responsible waste disposal and environmental sustainability.

After successfully implementing e-waste collection and divine items disposal drives, GHMC is set to take another step towards a cleaner and greener city with this upcoming service. Residents will soon be able to request pickups by sharing their location and basic details of the items, following which authorized teams will handle the collection process.

The civic body said the initiative will help reduce landfill waste, recover valuable resources, cut down carbon emissions, and support a circular economy.

GHMC urged citizens to participate actively in the program and contribute towards making Hyderabad cleaner, greener, and more sustainable. The official launch date is expected to be announced soon.
