Garland on NTR Statue Set a Fire In Nalgonda, TD Leaders Protest

Nalgonda:Unidentified persons allegedly set fire to a garland on the statue of Telugu Desam founder N.T. Rama Rao near NG Colony on Hyderabad Road in Nalgonda in the early hours of Saturday, police said.

TD town president Gundu Venkanna said the incident took place around 3 am. He said a dried garland on the statue appeared to have been set on fire. The statue did not suffer major damage.

TD leaders later performed ksheerabhishekam to the statue and submitted a memorandum to superintendent of police Sharath Chandra Pawar, seeking action against those involved.

Police are examining CCTV footage from the area.
