KARIMNAGAR: Gambhiraopet sub-inspector Ch. Srikanth was suspended on Saturday over allegations of dereliction of duty and subjecting two scribes to third-degree treatment.
Inspector general of police, Multi Zone-I, S. Chandrashekhar Reddy issued the suspension orders.
The SI allegedly subjected Pothuri Shekhar and Rathipalli Sampath, who work for a vernacular newspaper, to third-degree treatment.
Based on the allegations, superintendent of police Mahesh B. Gite attached Srikanth to the Armed Reserve (AR) headquarters and ordered an inquiry. The IG issued the suspension orders on Saturday.
