Hyderabad: The Gachibowli police detected a kidnapping case within four hours of receiving the complaint and safely rescued two minor children aged below four years.

The police received a complaint around 2 am on Tuesday from Devid Murmu, a labourer and resident of Labour Camp in Kondapur. He said that his daughter, and another labourer's daughter, was playing in the labour camp on Monday around 4 pm.

The complainant noticed that one Chaku Soren, who was residing in the same labour camp, allegedly took both the children from the camp and fled. Based on the complaint, a case was registered at Gachibowli police station and immediate efforts were initiated to trace and rescue the children.

As suspicion arose regarding the involvement of Chaku Soren, special teams were immediately formed and information regarding the accused and the missing children was circulated to various police stations and railway authorities.

One police team was deployed to check railway stations and other possible transit points. Alerts were sent to railway and law and order police stations going towards Kolkata particularly, also sent to Ghatkesar, Jangaon to Khazipet stations.

During early hours, the technical investigation and search efforts led the police team to trace the location of the accused near Ghatkesar railway station. The Gachibowli police immediately alerted the railway authorities and Ghatkesar police and, through coordinated efforts, successfully apprehended Soren, who is a native of West Bengal and rescued the kidnapped children.

Both children are safely rescued and brought to Gachibowli police station for further necessary action and are subsequently handed over to their parents or guardians as per procedure.

On being questioned, the accused disclosed that he had been involved in two criminal cases registered at Karandighi police station in West Bengal, one relating to an attempt to murder and the other pertained to rape. He further disclosed that he had undergone five years of imprisonment at Islampur Jail, West Bengal.

The accused also disclosed his involvement in kidnapping persons and selling them to needy individuals for monetary gain, with the victims allegedly being used for begging. His disclosures are being verified, and he is being thoroughly interrogated regarding his involvement in the offences and any other criminal activities.

His antecedents are also being verified to ascertain his involvement in any previous criminal cases. Further details, if any, will be incorporated after completion of the verification.
