Foundation Stone Laid for Kodad Bus Station
Several local leaders and TGSRTC officials attended the bhoomi puja for the construction of the modern bus station at Kodad town.
Hyderabad:Transport minister Ponnam Prabhakar and irrigation minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy on Saturday laid the foundation stone for a new Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) bus station at Kodad. The bus station will be constructed at an estimated cost of ₹17 crore.
Several local leaders and TGSRTC officials attended the bhoomi puja for the construction of the modern bus station at Kodad town.
Addressing the gathering, the ministers said that since the Praja Palana (People’s Governance) government assumed office, the state government had drawn up a special plan to construct RTC bus stations at key locations across Telangana. They said the government had launched the Mahalakshmi scheme, which provides free bus travel for women, within 48 hours of taking charge.
The ministers said that women have so far availed themselves of 32.7 crore zero-fare journeys under the scheme.
