Fire Accident in Pharma Company; Several Workers Injure
Reports said that a block of the factory was damaged in the blast and the resultant fire.
Nalgonda:Fire engulfed in Brundavan Labs, a pharma company, near Yellagiri of Choutuppal mandal in Yadadri-Bhongir district late on Friday reportedly after a reactor exploded on the premises, giving off thick clouds of smoke.
Several workers of the company were received injuries in the incident, but no fatalities were reported at the time of going to print. The injured workers were shifted to a hospital at Choutuppal for treatment, police said. Officials said the workers had run out of the premises on hearing the sound of the blast.
Reports said that a block of the factory was damaged in the blast and the resultant fire. It was suspected that the blast was triggered by a short circuit but investigations were going on to establish the exact cause.
On getting information, three fire engines from Choutuppal were rushed to the company and firefighting personnel were attempting to bring the blaze under control at about 11 pm.
The sound of the explosion and the smoke engulfing the area caused panic among people living in the areas surrounding the plant.
Revenue and police officials reached the site and were monitoring the situation. After the fire brought under the control, the loss and exact reason for the fire accident would be established, officials said.
