Hyderabad: A resident of Boduppal has lodged a complaint against a man who allegedly cheated him and his friend of Rs 25 lakh by promising software jobs in a major IT company.
According to the complaint filed by Laxminarsaiah, a private employee and resident of Ram Reddy Nagar Colony, he and his friend P. Venkat met the accused, Bala Venkata, through mutual acquaintances in 2021. Claiming strong connections with top companies and CEOs, Venkata promised them software team leader positions at the company.
Trusting his claims, the complainants transferred Rs 25 lakh to Venkata’s bank account on November 2, 2022. After receiving the amount, Venkata stopped answering their calls and later began threatening them when they demanded clarification.
Realising they had been defrauded, Laxminarsaiah approached the Medipally police and sought strict action against the accused. A case has been registered and an investigation is underway.
