Facial Recognition System Launched In 430 GJCs
The initiative will eliminate proxy attendance and enhances accountability, automates attendance records and reduces manual workload.
Hyderabad: The Telangana Board of Intermediate Education launched the facial recognition system across 430 government junior colleges on Saturday, registering 63,587 of the total 1,64,621 students. The rest would be registered by Monday, officials said.
The initiative will eliminate proxy attendance and enhances accountability, automates attendance records and reduces manual workload.
Education secretary Yogita Rana stated: “This system will ensure transparency, accountability and enables data drivn decision making to improve academic standards. Our goal is to make education more efficient, digital and student friendly.”
Krishna Aditya, TGBIE secretary, urged principals, faculty and students to cooperate for the successful implementation of the system. Each registration takes 10 seconds using AI technology. SMS integration has been included to provide parents with updates on student attendance.
