Nalgonda: Former Thungathurthy MLA and BRS leader Gadari Kishore Kumar on Saturday urged Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy not to visit the Thungathurthy Assembly constituency until water is released from the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme into the SRSP Stage-II canal to benefit local farmers. He made the demand at a media conference in Tirumalgiri ahead of the CM’s public meeting in Thungathurthy, scheduled for July 14.

Kishore Kumar argued that the Chief Minister has no moral right to visit, having failed to fulfil promises made during the Assembly elections. He challenged Revanth Reddy to prove that crop loans were waived for all farmers in Dharmaram, home village of sitting MLA Mandula Samuel, and invited him to an open debate on farmers’ welfare there. He also called on Samuel to debate the development works undertaken in Thungathurthy over the past 18 months.
