Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has instructed officials to strictly follow quality standards in all ongoing Medaram development works, warning that any lapse will invite stringent action.

At a review meeting held at his residence on Monday, the Chief Minister directed engineers and department heads to stay on-site and personally supervise every stage of execution.

Revanth Reddy issued comprehensive guidelines covering road construction, natural stone structures, installation of electricity poles, pedestrian movement routes, waiting areas and amenities across the temple surroundings.

After examining a detailed presentation on the progress made so far, he suggested additional safeguards and modifications to ensure durability, safety and convenience for the lakhs of devotees expected to attend the upcoming Sammakka-Sarakka Jatara in January 2026. The Medaram Maha Jatara 2026 is scheduled to take place from January 28 to 31 in Medaram village in Mulugu district.

He stressed the need for seamless coordination between the roads and buildings department, electricity department, endowments department, forest department and Sthapathi Shivanagi Reddy.

Highlighting the cultural significance of the festival, he directed that all works should reflect tribal heritage and protect the spiritual identity associated with Medaram. He reiterated that timelines must be met without compromise to ensure smooth arrangements ahead of the January 2026 Jatara.

The Chief Minister had launched an extensive development plan for the temple in September 2025, setting a 100-day deadline for completing key works. The project focuses on creating permanent infrastructure, improving basic amenities, widening approach roads, establishing dividers and upgrading entry and exit points to streamline traffic flow during peak pilgrim influx.

Endowments minister Konda Surekha, Ministers Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and Adluri Laxman Kumar, CM’s adviser Vem Narender Reddy, Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao, CM’s principal secretary K. S. Srinivasa Raju, Finance principal secretary Sandeep Kumar Sultania, Endowments commissioner Harish, R&B ENC Mohan Nayak and senior officials attended the review meeting.
